In this demonstration, I will turn a small wine glass out of ash and then dye it black and embellish it with a colored cream based grain filler. This treatment makes for a stunning look in open grain wood. The color combinations are endless but it all starts with a pleasing form. We will talk about material selection, orientation, work holding, end grain turning, tool selection, design opportunities and finish alternatives.
