Feb 23rd, 2022 – Remote Demonstration – Small Plates

February 23, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm CST

Virtual Event Virtual Event
$12.00

Please join me to see how I “Turn Small Plates – Face Grain & End Grain”.

Ask questions live, in real time, just like you were right next to me. This is a Zoom meeting.

In this demonstration I will show the turning of two small plates. One using face grain wood which will require three work-holding positions. The second plate will be turned end grain and may require jam chucking. I will also do a little texturing and coloring and discuss further options on embellishment. The two different methods will show the tools and techniques possible with the two orientations of mounting wood on the lathe. The small projects are great for gifts or around the home.

Topic: Turn Small Plates – Face Grain & End Grain

  1. I was going to register for your Feb 23 demo. I do not have an account with your store. So why do I have to supply a password just to register for the demo, when I am not logging into an account with your store? And furthermore, a password for what?

    1. That is the way the website software works. To buy a ticket, create an account so that you are logged in to purchase a ticket. The replay of the video will be available on the website for ticket holders who are logged in

  2. I would not be able to watch this demonstration on the 23rd. Could you tell me how long the video will be available? Thanks

      1. thanks for the info about the replay for 60 days. I will not be able to attend the Zoom but will register in order to be able to review later

      2. Has the replay of Small Plates been posted? I was not able to attend the live session. I have not received any type of notification about the replay and can’t find it on your website. I did check my spam folder, but it’s not there. Thanks

        1. I sent an email a few days ago Feb 27th) with the details.
You can watch the replay right on the website and there you will also find a pdf doc with some brief instruction and the chat log from the live event.
          1) Go to Woodturning Tool Store My Account page and log in
          2) Navigate to the Personal Remote Demonstration page which is found under the Explore Woodturning menu.
          3) Scroll down and you should see the section for this demo containing the pdf download link and the video player.

NOTE: You must be logged in and a ticket holder to see the content for the replay.
Please email me if you have problems.

  3. Hey, I don’t remember my password with you guys. Why do we even have to go through your site anyways? Why isn’t there a direct link from Zoom?

  4. Unfortunately i won’t be available for much of the live part on Wed but might be able to catch part of it at the end. I’m assuming i will still have access to the entire taped version a few days later.
