Woodturners Retreat – ACROSS THE POND 1…DOUBLE HEADER

Join us as Tod Raines and Chris Parker demo back to back to bring you some fantastic projects!
Chris will be making an Ash bowl that is “self presenting”. It has a textured and highlighted rim and additional texture to the inner bowl.
Tod’s demo will show how to make an oval box. Through trial and error I came upon the dimensions and center placement that gives the oval shape. This design is created by turning on three different centers. There is some hand shaping to be done while the piece is on the lathe. Then there is a last design element that takes this oval box and makes it elegant – a nice sweeping curved top. Note: Turning the sphere is not included in this demo.
