I was interviewed via Zoom by Steve Nathans-Kelly, the editor of Streaming Media Producer. Check out the article and video interview here: Tod Raines Talks Livestreamed Woodturning Tutorials.
A few month ago Stephanie Hueter, from Global Communications at Blackmagic Design, the maker of the ATEM video switcher product, reached out to me via email. She found out through the supply chain that I had bought several Blackmagic products and that I was livestreaming. She asked if I would be willing to be interviewed to share my livestreaming journey and the equipment that I use. I confirmed I would be willing to share what I have learned and how I use the equipment. I heard back a few weeks ago and I was interviewed by the editor of Streaming Media Producer. Steve Nathans-Kelly has been the editor of this online resource for over ten years, I believe.
In the interview I talk about my journey getting to live video production of woodturning demonstrations, the audiences I reach and the equipment I use. I also do a bit of a show and tell of my setup and give an overview of most of the equipment in my studio. There is a separate video that I show Steve a quick and simple woodturning demonstration to give him a flavor of what we do as remote demonstrators. I did mention Lucid Woodturners as a valuable source but in the editing of the video, Steve cut that out unfortunately.
