The Robust 5/8″ Detail Spindle Gouge is an unhandled spindle turning tool designed for beads, coves, flowing transitions, and detailed spindle work. Made from hardened and nitrided M2 high-speed steel, it offers excellent edge life and reduced sharpening compared with standard HSS spindle gouges.
The shallow radius flute matches the diameter of the gouge stock, helping provide strength and predictable cutting performance. It ships sharp with a standard 45-degree spindle gouge profile, and the flat-milled top allows sharpening jigs to be used consistently as the tool wears.
